Over this four-week programme, we’re going to be employing all three of my powerful techniques – broken down into easy 20-30-minute bite-size chunks. We’re going to get you back on track, feeling healthy, positive, dynamic and yet calm. Above all, we’re going to be boosting your confidence, because when we’re connected with authentic confidence, we automatidally feel calmer and can achieve the most out of life.
Let’s start with what it’s not. Confidence isn’t the bravado we’ve all seen – and practised! – of the ‘I’m better at x than you’ variety. This ‘confidence’ can be quickly pricked by a misplaced comment or challenge, causing the person, or ourselves, to contract and feel insecure and vulnerable.
By contrast, authentic confidence is synonymous with inner calm. This confidence is knowing that you don’t need to beat anyone or anything else; you just need to be the best you that you can be. Confidence knows him / herself – both strengths and weaknesses. Confidence knows where he / she is going. Confidence is a person whose internal vision for themselves and their lives is greater than any external force – be it peer pressure or family expectation etc.
Stress.
When we’re stressed, we lose ourselves. We lose any semblance of inner calm and poise. And we lose our authentic self-belief. Life runs us, not the other way round. It’s an ugly spiral, a vicious circle, because as we get more and more stressed, any attempt at connecting to our authentic selves gets even harder, which in turn generates more stress.
So, this course is teaching you how to manage your stress. And if you use the exercises I’m presenting here regularly, you will learn how to master your stress. The difference? When we manage our stress, we have coping mechanisms to handle life. That’s pretty good. However, when we master our stress, we can funnel that anxiety / depression / tension, which is essentially only energy, into fuel that enables us to be more effective, both personally and professionally. No longer are we a puppet on a string to stress, but instead we’re masters of life. That’s where effective living begins. And as we shine, we positively impact the people around us which is a magnificent thing.
This course is divided into four hour-long modules that consists of video material. Every module features the three techniques I teach, each broken down into an easy 20-30-minute chunk. You can complete the full module in one sitting or you can set aside time throughout the week to do each 20-minute chunk separately. I’ve created the course to work for you.
The first two modules are designed around the principle Know Thyself; the second two being designed around the principle of Change Thyself. Each module can be repeated as many times as you like, and the modules have cumulative benefits, with each one building on the previous one(s) and the technique(s) I taught you the week(s) before. If you’re not ready to move onto the next module, you can simply save it and the pick up the work at a more suitable time.
I have done two four-day retreats with Anna. Each has left me feeling like I have completed seven years of cognitive therapy. The progress I have made still amazes me and I feel light, strong and free. I met Anna when she gave a keynote speech at Greenpeace, and I have twice brought her to the Netherlands to work with my team.

- Yourself – however you are. You don’t need to be feeling perfect to begin. Begin where you are.
- A journal and pen. I’d recommend buying a new journal to do this, creating a special space (in your mind) for this work.
- A place to sit and write
- A place where you can comfortably relax – either an armchair, a sofa, a bed etc.
